CCH 914: HABITAT INFORMATICS I: SKILLS DEVELOPMENT

Enterprise systems are large-scale software platforms that support and integrate core business functions across departments—from finance and HR to supply chain and customer service. Experience with these systems signals strong organizational awareness and the ability to work within complex, data-driven environments. If you’ve used them, be sure to highlight your hands-on experience.

Key Enterprise-Related Computer Skills:

1. Business Continuity Planning
Using digital tools and protocols to maintain critical operations during disruptions. This includes implementing backup systems, configuring disaster recovery software, and testing failover procedures to minimize downtime and data loss.

2. Business Intelligence (BI) Software
Analyzing and visualizing organizational data to support decision-making. Proficiency with tools like Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, QlikView, or Looker enables users to create interactive dashboards, identify trends, and translate raw data into actionable business insights.

3. Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
Navigating integrated ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle NetSuite, Sage, or Microsoft Dynamics to manage end-to-end business processes—including financial accounting, inventory, procurement, human resources, and customer relationship management—all within a unified system.

4. Data Reporting & Analysis
Designing and generating operational or strategic reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), built-in ERP reporting modules, or custom BI solutions. This includes defining KPIs, scheduling automated reports, and presenting performance metrics to stakeholders through clear, data-driven visuals.
